Evangelism

The mission of the Evangelism Committee is to equip the congregation to carry out Christ’s command to go out and make disciples.  The Evangelism Committee focuses on inviting people to church, sharing our story of coming to faith in Christ, engaging in Gospel conversations, and making LPC more visible in our community.

Matthew 28:19-20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have command you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Upcoming Events

We encourage you to participate in your calling to share the love of Jesus and make Christ known in your community.  You can be a tremendous blessing to others by inviting them to church, sharing your faith story, and sharing Gospel conversations with those in your circle.

““Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”” Mark 1:17

  • Christmas caroling at the moorings

On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, over 20+ members of the Lewes Presbyterian Church visited the Moorings of Lewes and sang Christmas carols from 3pm - 4:30pm.  We began on the assisted living side by opening in prayer, handed out printed copies of the lyrics, and sang several of the top favorite Christmas songs with over 25 residents joining in! We then moved to the independent living side where we again opened in prayer, had the lyrics available for the residents, and sang multiple Christmas favorites. We had around 15 residents who joined us from the independent living side. Afterwards the Evangelism Committee handed out Christmas cards to all who attended. This was such a joy to share the love of Christ in song with all the residents.

  • COMMUNITY PRAYER WALK

On Sunday September 15, 2024, the Lewes Presbyterian Church’s Evangelism Committee held a Prayer Walk praying for members in our community. We walked around town praying for our medical and

emergency personnel, the children in our community, and our local leaders who serve in Lewes.

We met in the Church parking lot and walked over to the Police station, praying for the protection they provide, the safety and security they offer and the wisdom needed in emergencies. We then walked around the corner to the Town Hall and prayed for the leaders of our town and for wisdom in the decisions they make. From there, we walked to the Firehall praying for all volunteers, the families and lives they save, and safety to and from their call. We then walked over to Beebe Hospital and prayed for all employees, patients, and volunteers, asking for wisdom as they take care of those in need. And then our last stop was at the Lewes Elementary School where we prayed for a successful school year for all the teachers, students, volunteers as well as those in administration. We were blessed with a beautiful day as we walked around town praying for our community!
