The Session

Our congregation is governed by its session which consists of nine elders duly elected by and from the covenant partners (members) of the congregation Our pastor is also a member of the session. Elders are given authority and responsibility, along with pastors, to oversee the spiritual health of the congregation as well as the congregation’s faithfulness to God’s mission. 


The 2026 session members are  Edward Hale, Dawn Hurd, Dave McGuigan, Jim Miller, Jack Moore (Clerk of Session), Suzi Pashcuk, Sue Ellen Radhe, Dan Smith, and Amanda Swain.  

The Board of Deacons

The Board of Deacons is elected by the congregation. The mission of the deacons is to support our church leadership, and tend to the spiritual and physical needs of our Covenant Partners through worship and caring ministry.

 

The 2026 Board of Deacons includes Debbie Anglin (Co-Moderator), SherryLee Biele, Walt Clark, Debbie Coover, Amanda Hale,  Melinda McGuigan (Co-Moderator), Debbie Myers, Sandy Sherow, Pat Trafton, Joy VanHeest, Cindi Warrington, and Bob Young.

Lewes Presbyterian Church Staff

  • Gregory P. Wiest

    Pastor

    Rev. Gregory P. Wiest joined Lewes Presbyterian as Pastor on November 1, 2018. Greg has been a Presbyterian Pastor since 1992 and has served Christ in a variety of settings and roles. He and his wife Laura met at Virginia Tech in their freshman year and have been married since 1986. They have three adult children: Nathan, Maggie and Claire, son-in-law Sarin, as well as a daughter-in-law, Brittany, two grandsons, William, and Kasper, and two granddaughters, Emma., and Evelyn.

  • Barbara Barkdoll

    Office Administrator

    Barbara is a Kansas native; she and her husband, Clarence Bauman, retired from Kansas State University in 2011 and moved to Delaware to be closer to family although it was difficult to leave the Kansas grandchildren. Finding Lewes Presbyterian Church has been inspiring, especially the LPC family.  Barbara joined the LPC staff in March 2019.   

  • Cathy Heronemus

    Business Manager

    Cathy and her husband, Bill, live in Lewes DE. She and Bill previously owned Henlopen Electronics, and when Bill retired in 2005, Cathy came to work at LPC. She and Bill have two daughters and three grandchildren.

  • Cheryl Morgan

    Pastoral Assistant

    Cheryl and her husband, Jeff, live in Lewes DE. They moved from Northern VA in 2019, where Cheryl worked as a Systems Engineer for Lockheed Martin. Cheryl changed career paths when she was called to a life of ministry and service to Christ. Cheryl joined the LPC staff in March 2022.  She assists Pastor Greg and works with LPC’s evangelism, youth ministry and caring ministry programs. 

  • Sarah rose

    Music Director

    Sarah is married and has two children. She has extensive experience directing choirs and accompanying vocalist on the piano. She has been a church musician since her teenage years and has both a bachelors and a masters degree in music.  Her music ministry flows out of her commitment to Christ.

  • Jacki Hoffman

    Childcare Director

    Jacki Hoffman lives in Delmar, DE with her husband Justin and six kids.  She works with Justin and his family in their farm irrigation business and spends her free time with family events and her kids’ activities. Jacki has attended Lewes Presbyterian Church since childhood along with her large extended family.
