Opportunities to Minister, Serve, and Connect with Others

LPC offers a wide variety of opportunities for you to use your time, gifts and talents to help minister to others in the church and the broader community.  Some examples of LPC volunteer opportunities for community outreach programs are highlighted below.

  • Lewes after school Program

The Lewes After School Program strives to provide a high quality, enrichment opportunity for 1st – 5th grade youth to help achieve success in school and life. We offer activities that support topics learned during the day in regular school , in a fun and challenging way after school in our building..

We need volunteers to help the students with homework and to help with activities and snacks.  The LASP follows the Cape Henlopen School District calendar and is in operation for about 180 days during the school year.

  • Soup ministry

The Soup Ministry provides hot lunches and fellowship on Tuesdays from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm from October through May of each year.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Soup Ministry is limiting its activities to carry-out or home-delivered soups.  We need volunteers to help prepare and serve the meals and to assist with home delivery to individuals who are unable to attend in person.

  • Kids for Christ

Kids for Christ is an outreach program to children from Pre-K through 6th grade that meets on Friday evenings once a month during the school year.  The children are served a simple meal and then all led in Bible study and other activities.  We need volunteers to help prepare and serve the meal, and to help with the many activities that occur each week.   Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Kids for Christ is not meeting in 2020.
