Serve With Us

Kids for Christ

2nd & 4th Fridays, 6:00- 8:30 p.m., October - May

This program emphasizes learning about and building faith in Jesus Christ through music, drama, Bible stories, crafts, games, and snack time. Dinner is included for all attending the program. About 70 children, as well as 20 adult and preteen/teen volunteers attend KFC. We welcome all children in the community to join us for Kids for Christ.

Children are divided into age groups--ages three to kindergarten, first and second grade, third and fourth grade, and fifth and sixth grade. Each group is then led by volunteer adults through a series of centers--crafts, drama, games and snacks--all coordinated with the Bible story of the evening. This program uses Faith Weaver for its curriculum.

A highlight for the year is a Holy Week presentation where volunteers dress in costume and the rooms of the church are decorated for biblical times for Good Friday events, Palm Sunday and Easter.

Thanksgiving Dinner

The Community Thanksgiving Dinner is held annually the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Lewes Presbyterian Church is pleased to host the event where a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings is prepared and served with the partnership of numerous volunteer organizations from the Lewes-Rehoboth area. Also, on the same day as the dinner, Lewes Presbyterian Church offers gently used and new coats to anyone needing a warm coat for the approaching cold days.
